Seminole County’s Lake Mary, Longwood & Sanford neighboring cities, historically known for being respective upper, middle, and lower-income areas, have all grown and improved recently. Lake Mary, famous for its golf & country clubs and its own high-tech corridor of corporations, has grown to add more upscale townhome & condominium residences, attracting many young professionals to this historically “old money” area. Longwood, being the more middle-income area, is known for its well-established school district and family-friendly atmosphere. And Sanford, previously known for being primarily a low-income area, has recently experienced a renaissance in its historic downtown that sits along the beautiful Saint John’s River. It is also experiencing a boom in middle-range residential housing starts, with many Millennial families seeing it as a more affordable way to upsize and enjoy all the benefits of living in Seminole County, with a strong county government & school system, while being a hop, skip & a jump away from Lake Mary. Sanford is also home to the area’s second-largest international airport, Orlando-Sanford International, which is growing its airline roster and domestic & international destinations at a rapid pace.
